Can The Rhinos Win It From 5th….Again?

Last weekend’s victory against Wakefield was a welcome return to form the Leeds Rhinos. They played as a team, for each other, and kept playing until the final whistle. Something which has been lacking in recent weeks. The return of Danny Mcguire clearly had a positive effect on the team.

Catalans Dragons

Last week I posed the question was a game in the South of France against the Catalans Dragons only delaying the inevitable? Without a doubt this is the one tie that all the teams in the top 8 would have wanted to avoid.

If Leeds can play as they did last week a victory isn’t beyond the realm of possibility and will cause other teams to take us just a little bit more seriously. It will take a massive team effort for us to win on Saturday, but if we do I can see us maybe winning the Grand Final from 5th again. If that happens perhaps the play-off structure should be revised? Or maybe the team who finishes top of the league after the weekly rounds should be given a greater reward?

Super League Trophy

At the start of the year I thought that St Helens would finally win the Grand Final and their victory over Warrington only strengthened that belief. Would it be a bad thing if Leeds and St Helens met again at Old Trafford? From a neutral point of view I don’t think it does much for the image of the game, maybe two different teams in the Grand Final would show to potential new supporters that there are more than 2 teams in the competition?
